FREE SERVICES:
I do not charge if I cannot fix the problem or have to recommend new hardware. Some computers are just too old and not worth spending money on. I do not mark up or sell new hardware. I charge for my services only and am happy to stop by for FREE (new clients) if it is in the area and can quickly tell you what my recommendations are to fix the problem. I provide FREE support to my clients by email.
I usually hesitate to quote rates over the phone as it is very difficult to know exactly what is wrong with a computer based on the symtoms someone is giving you. Because of this, I offer new clients an offer for a FREE diagnosis and analysis.
In other words, I perfer to stop out at NO CHARGE to see what the issues are. This way my clients know exactly what I determine to be the problem and how much time and cost it will take to repair it. Sometimes due to the complexity of the problem and that age of the hardware or operating system, it is not worth doing anything with and my clients will not incur any fees.
I then make new recommendations on hardware and assist my customers in purchasing a computer that is taylored to what their computing needs are. I will actually go to computer storefronts ie. Best Buy and others with my clients and assist them in the purchase of new equipment. I charge only for my installation and services. I support what I do for one year from time of purchase.
I do have hourly rates, 1/2 hour rates (quick repair when I am in the area) and all inclusive flat maximum rates.
